2023 Downtown Small Business Award Winner

Dave Thomson, myFM St Thomas

DOWNTOWN ST THOMAS BUSINESS AWARD 2023

The Downtown St Thomas Business Award was initiated in 2016 to honour a business or individual based on criteria that includes such things like:
–   Currently is or has been involved in the DDB Board structure
– Maintains a positive social media presence
– Goes above and beyond to improve Downtown St Thomas
Dave joined the DDB in 2014 because he had a passion for our downtown, a desire to see it thrive and survive and to make it the true heart of the city he loves.
Dave handles all of our promotional aspects and is in fact our Promotions Chair person writing and producing our radio and print media scripts. In other words, making sure that residents and visitors know what we are doing to promote our downtown.
On top of this, over the past number of years, Dave has taken on our Downtown Santa event where, dressed in his “ugly” Christmas sweater and torque, he escorts Santa through the downtown core, paying for the purchases of lucky shoppers. Downtown Santa brings so much excitement and tears of joy to the people that it touches.
The DDB congratulates and is proud to present the 2023 Downtown Business Award to Dave Thomson for being a true advocate for Downtown St Thomas.

Congratulations to the past winners of the Downtown St Thomas Business Award

9 Stops To Get A Taste of St. Thomas | Ontario’s Southwest | Travelling Foodie

Picture this: art crawls, craft beer, and international cuisine.  We bet you’re not thinking about St. Thomas, Ontario, but you should be.  The Railway City Arts Crawl, which takes place February 23 and 24 in 2018, has local art, music, and beer.  And speaking of beer, you can’t miss the Honey Elixir brown ale at Railway City Brewing Co. Taste of the town: Rail City Bistro features a different international locale each weekend, from India to Hungary to…Tex-Mex? All we know is, it’s good. We love the nightlife: The Back Alley just wants you to dance, and judging by its live music events, DJ nights, and karaoke, it’s succeeding.

Love Where You Shop – in Historic Downtown St Thomas. It is home to 2.3 kilometers of beautifully painted murals, lush parkettes, gorgeous historic Victorian buildings, and over 200 unique shops and services. St. Thomas is known as the “Railway Capital” of Canada.

The downtown core also hosts a variety of great events  including the Nostalgia Car Show, the Annual Tree Lighting Celebration and the Santa Claus Parade. There is so much for you to see and do in downtown St. Thomas! Feel free to contact us on Facebook or by e-mail at ddb@stthomas.ca
